Your Responsibilities
Are you eager to experience professional life within an international, forward-thinking corporate group? As an intern (m/f/d), you will immerse yourself in a relevant department for a duration of 3 to 6 months. You will engage in significant projects and undertake a specific set of responsibilities autonomously. Utilize your internship to establish connections and gain insight into our organization. Your role will encompass the following tasks:
• Contribute to ongoing research initiatives focused on optimizing energy network operations, assisting in the integration of new models for various networked systems.
• Develop methodologies for heat networks using object-oriented programming in Python.
• We anticipate that you will demonstrate a willingness to confront challenging problems, possess above-average motivation to implement and evaluate developed models and algorithms, and exhibit proactivity in generating innovative solutions to overcome obstacles.
• Manage an independent work assignment as a member of a project team.
Qualifications
- You are currently pursuing a master's degree in Mathematics, Physics, Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- You have experience with one of the following: non-linear constrained optimization, hyperbolic balance laws/PDEs, ordinary differential equations.
- You are passionate about resolving complex industrial optimization challenges.
- You possess programming skills in an object-oriented language (e.g., Python, C/C++).
- You have a strong command of written and spoken English.
- You demonstrate readiness to tackle difficult problems, possess above-average motivation to implement and test developed models and algorithms, and show initiative in proposing new ideas to address potential challenges.
- Experience with differential-algebraic equations, modeling of heat networks, and writing software tests is a plus.
