Research FocusThe focus of this doctoral thesis is on road condition monitoring solutions for autonomous transportation systems (ATS), utilizing various sensor technologies, including radar. The objective is to ensure the safe and reliable operation of ATS by continuously monitoring the environment to detect critical safety conditions, such as road cracks, potholes, and icy surfaces.
Key Responsibilities- Explore the application of radar and other sensor data in autonomous transportation.
- Investigate and develop algorithms for processing radar and sensor data and their integration.
- Create efficient monitoring algorithms suitable for edge devices.
- Evaluate the performance of developed algorithms against current industry standards.
Your research will contribute to:
- Scientific studies on road condition monitoring utilizing diverse sensors and methodologies.
- Collaboration with university researchers and PhD candidates at Infineon, focusing on AI and environmental sensors.
- Development of demonstration solutions and implementation of radar-based road condition monitoring algorithms.
The ideal candidate is a passionate researcher who:
- Is eligible for full-time PhD studies.
- Holds a master's degree in computer science, electrical engineering, or a related field, with a focus on embedded systems, data mining, and machine learning.
- Possesses basic knowledge of radar and/or other sensors, such as ultrasound.
