Position Overview

We are on the lookout for a talented and seasoned Senior Backend Engineer to contribute to our innovative projects at CloudFactory. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in architecting and constructing distributed software solutions.

As a pivotal member of our organization, you will be instrumental in crafting and executing advanced software applications that bolster our machine learning initiatives and enhance our core operational functions. Collaboration with multidisciplinary teams will be essential as you design and develop robust software systems that integrate seamlessly with CloudFactory's overarching technological framework.

Candidate Profile

The perfect candidate will demonstrate:

  • Expertise in architecting and developing intricate software systems.
  • Strong proficiency in developing applications using the Go programming language.
  • Experience with NoSQL (DynamoDB) and SQL (Postgres) databases.
  • Exceptional skills in conducting code reviews and engaging in pair programming with fellow engineers.
  • A self-driven approach to work, with the ability to manage tasks independently.
  • Outstanding communication abilities, facilitating effective collaboration with team members.
  • Current residence in Berlin

Technical Environment

Our technology stack includes:

  • Frontend technologies - JavaScript, React, TypeScript
  • Backend technologies - Go and Python
  • Database solutions - Postgres, Redis
  • Deployment tools - CircleCI and Argo CD
  • Monitoring tools - Grafana
  • Cloud infrastructure - GCP and AWS

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain high-quality software applications and solutions.
  • Collaborate with product managers, software engineers, and data scientists to establish project requirements and deliver innovative solutions.
  • Engage in the complete software development lifecycle, from ideation and design to testing and deployment.
  • Manage the technical debt backlog and strategize on addressing these items as necessary.
  • Write clean, efficient code across various programming languages.
  • Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to uphold code quality and maintainability.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve software issues promptly.
  • Identify obstacles to team success and propose actionable solutions.
  • Stay informed about the latest trends and technologies in software development to continually enhance CloudFactory's capabilities.

Interview Process

Candidates will undergo an initial coding and analytical assessment, followed by an interview with a Tech Lead and engineering team members. During this interview, candidates will discuss previous projects, methodologies employed, and outcomes achieved.

Successful candidates will then meet with the VP of Engineering - AI and the CTO for a final interview.
