Your Role:
As a Test Engineer specializing in laboratory environments for eVTOL aircraft, you will be tasked with designing and executing a range of assessments on the aircraft's propulsion systems and components. Your primary goal will be to ensure compliance with safety and performance benchmarks. Collaborating closely with design and development teams, you will identify potential design vulnerabilities and formulate testing protocols to mitigate them. Your responsibilities will also encompass data analysis from tests, providing recommendations for design enhancements, and working alongside other engineers and stakeholders to achieve project objectives. Key qualifications for this role include strong analytical skills, meticulous attention to detail, and a comprehensive understanding of instrumentation and electric propulsion systems.
- Develop comprehensive test plans, procedures, and protocols for propulsion assessments, ensuring alignment with project goals and industry standards.
- Possess a robust background in testing methodologies, comfortable operating in both on-site and remote testing environments.
- Conduct assessments across various test rigs related to propulsion and aerodynamic testing.
- Document and analyze test outcomes, noting any deviations as necessary.
- Set up, configure, and validate testing equipment prior to execution of tests.
- Analyze test data and provide actionable recommendations for design improvements.
Essential Skills:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in engineering or a related field; a background in Aerospace Engineering is advantageous.
- Over 5 years of experience working with systems test benches or laboratory environments.
- 5+ years of experience with aircraft systems, including Structures, Flight Controls, and Electric Propulsion.
- Proficient in drafting test sequences, plans, and reports.
- Experience in Requirements Engineering.
- Fluency in English; proficiency in German is a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and adopt a structured, solution-oriented approach.
- Effective communication skills with both internal and external stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications:
- In-depth knowledge in areas such as electrical systems, rotor dynamics, noise and vibration analysis, or strain gauge technology.
- Experience with high-voltage electrical systems.
