Global Network Solutions Engineer

Position Overview:
As a Network Engineer at BorgWarner, you will be an integral part of the Global Infrastructure and Networking team, ensuring the seamless operation and security of our worldwide network. Your role will involve the design, implementation, and support of network and security technologies, tackling significant strategic challenges and simplifying complex issues into effective solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver Global Network Service Delivery support by collaborating with internal service teams and external providers to ensure efficient IT services.
- Assist in network installation and upgrade projects, coordinating tasks among support personnel to meet implementation deadlines.
- Contribute to the design of data, voice, and video network infrastructures, encompassing operational, business, SDWAN, LAN, WAN, internet, and security services.
- Design, implement, and support secure solutions for both on-premises and cloud network infrastructures, developing automations for large-scale deployments.
- Optimize LAN and WAN infrastructure services, including SDWAN controllers, routers, switches, and security devices.
- Engage in major incident management and security incident response activities.
- Support cloud networking initiatives (Azure), network security, SDWAN, LAN segmentation, and secure service edge services.
- Collaborate with the IT Business Relationship Management team to enhance business value through standardized IT processes.
- Assist in firewall design and network security, focusing on device hardening, intrusion detection, and vulnerability assessments.
- Work closely with Infrastructure Services, Business Relationship Managers, and Engineering teams to implement cloud-native networking solutions.
- Oversee incident management at regional and site levels, providing status updates and conducting root cause analyses.
- Manage and deliver innovative capabilities to align IT with business objectives.
- Monitor network performance and asset inventory using management tools and adhering to industry best practices.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, information systems, business administration, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in networking and network security within complex organizational environments.
- Proficiency in routing, switching, and network security technologies and protocols.
- Strong understanding of IT disciplines and their interdependencies.
- Demonstrated leadership skills in managing intercultural teams.
- Ability to prioritize multiple projects and adapt to changing priorities.
- Extensive experience in IT service organizations (ITIL) and project delivery frameworks.
- Knowledge of IT controls and governance practices.
