Your Responsibilities

As an Electrician within the Test Operations team, you will be integral to the success of our cutting-edge technology. Our Laboratory Test & Experimental organization conducts tests at component, system, and aircraft levels, focusing on propulsion, batteries, structures, and electronics. We seek a motivated individual to join the Test Services department, supporting the development and management of test rigs and instrumentation, as well as executing tests at our facilities.

Your role encompasses all stages of designing, assembling, and commissioning switchgear for mechanical and low voltage test rigs up to 1 kV (AC & DC), alongside their operation and maintenance. You will collaborate closely with skilled colleagues in the Test Operation team and other divisions to ensure that electrical test setups adhere to the highest quality standards for safe installations.

Daily Tasks
  • Utilize your expertise to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements for switchgear design for mechanical and electrical test benches up to 1 kV (AC & DC), including the analysis and specification of safety and control systems.
  • Select electrical components, assist in procurement, and prepare relevant technical documentation.
  • Assemble electrical equipment, integrate switchgear into test benches, and support instrumentation, commissioning, and maintenance activities.
  • Contribute to process improvements, troubleshoot issues, support root cause analysis, and assist with administrative tasks to enhance the functionality of the Test Operations team and its facilities.
Your Qualifications
  • Completed apprenticeship, master craftsman, or technician qualification in electronics for industrial, operational, or automation technology, or a related degree in electrical engineering.
  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in the field is essential.
  • Proficiency with electrical systems up to 1 kV DC, particularly with Li-Ion HV-Batteries in automotive or aerospace applications.
  • Experience in a testing environment for prototype Li-Ion HV-Battery development (cell & stack-level) is preferred.
  • Possession of EFK (HV2) and/or AuS (HV2) Certification with practical experience is required.
  • Familiarity with the Low Voltage Directive, Machinery Directive, and relevant electrical standards (e.g., DIN EN 50191, DIN EN 61439) is advantageous.
  • Ability to construct LV and HV harnesses, disassemble prototype HV-Batteries, and assist in Li-Ion Cell and HV-Battery testing.
  • Experience with sensor applications (e.g., thermocouples, strain gauges) is a plus.
  • Proficient in standard IT software such as MS-Office, with a willingness to learn new tools (e.g., databases); experience with E-PLAN is beneficial.
  • Strong teamwork skills, a high sense of responsibility, manual dexterity, and the ability to follow verbal and written instructions or complex technical documentation.
  • Good command of written and spoken English is required; German language skills are a plus.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally to support external test setups.
  • A valid driver's license class B (car) is necessary.
