Research Assistant in Human Factors and Building Science

Key Responsibilities

As a research assistant, you will primarily work on projects related to multi-domain perception (thermally, visually, olfactorily, and acoustically) of indoor environments. (For a brief overview, see [insert link]).

Your tasks will depend on your skills and preferences. These may include:

  • Supporting a systematic literature review with a focus on methodological aspects of studies
  • Supporting study design
  • Supporting data analysis
  • Experiments in the Aachen workplace simulation facility

In addition, you will support our interdisciplinary team on other innovative projects in Building Science with your psychological knowledge and perspectives.

Requirements

You are a student of psychology with

  • at least 120 ECTS achieved from the Bachelor's degree
  • good grades, particularly in courses for methodology and statistics
  • solid knowledge of fundamental empirical research methods and data analysis
  • English C1 or higher
  • willingness to engage in interdisciplinary research

The following optional criteria are advantageous:

  • Experience with systematic literature reviews
  • Programming skills
  • Residence in Aachen
  • Interest in an academic career
