Job Title: Lead Engineer, Power Plant Solutions

Job Summary:

Vestas is seeking a highly skilled Lead Engineer to join our Power Plant Solutions team. As a key member of our Technical Sales team, you will drive technical value engineering and negotiations for offshore wind projects across Northern and Central Europe.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Contribute to the scoping, technical value engineering, and technical contracting from the electrical and grid side for offshore wind projects.
  • Ensure timely responses to customer enquiries, research, and prepare clarifications and deviations to tenders.
  • Take ownership of relevant parts of technical risk assessment & mitigation during the sales phase and own the relevant technical annexes and contract schedules.
  • Collect relevant electrical data and customer/site/grid requirements for project grid integration studies.
  • Collaborate closely with the Customer Project Execution teams during the Construction and Commissioning phases.
  • Hold technical meetings with customers, contractors, grid operators & utilities, and certification bodies.
  • Work closely with Product Strategy & Product Management functions to ensure the necessary feedback to enable future products and solutions.
Requirements:
  • M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering/Power Systems or B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering/Power Systems including 5+ years' experience in a similar position.
  • Significant knowledge of regulatory electrical requirements and grid codes.
  • Knowledge in power system analyses and studies (steady state and transient studies such as short circuit, load flow, FRT, power quality).
  • Knowledge of power system simulation software such as DIgSILENT/PSCAD/PSSE.
  • Knowledge about HV/MV of (offshore) WTG equipment, wider offshore power plant electrical components, and power systems.
  • Knowledge of industrial automation and networks, PLC hardware, SCADA systems, and communication interfaces beneficial.

  • Excellent technical skills with emphasis on problem-solving and root cause analysis.
  • Able to balance responsibilities and prioritize daily work in a growth environment.
  • Good communication skills in English, and additional European languages would be beneficial.
  • Effective time management and organization skills.
  • Accustomed to travel, comfortable working in a high-paced and highly progressive environment.
  • Creative, solutions-oriented, and high degree of motivation to satisfy customer needs.
  • Highly self-motivated, structured, and service-minded work style, results-oriented, able to work with little supervision and with an international team.
