Research FocusThe focus of this PhD thesis is on road condition monitoring solutions tailored for autonomous transportation systems (ATS). The aim is to develop methodologies that utilize various sensor technologies, including radar, to monitor the operational environment effectively. This is crucial for identifying safety-critical conditions such as road cracks, potholes, and black ice, which pose significant hazards to autonomous vehicles.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct an in-depth exploration of radar and sensor data for applications in autonomous transportation.
- Investigate and create algorithms for processing radar and sensor data, focusing on data fusion techniques.
- Develop efficient monitoring algorithms suitable for edge computing devices.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of developed algorithms against existing state-of-the-art solutions.
The research will yield:
- Scientific studies on road condition monitoring concepts utilizing diverse sensor approaches.
- Collaboration with university researchers and fellow PhD candidates at Infineon, particularly in the realms of AI and environmental sensors.

Qualifications- Eligibility for full-time PhD studies.
- A master’s degree in computer science, electrical engineering, or a related field, with a focus on embedded systems, data mining, and machine learning.

- Experience with AI algorithms for sensor data processing and fusion.
- Familiarity with signal processing techniques in both time and frequency domains.
