Sustaining Engineer for Cardiopulmonary Products

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled R&D Engineer to join our team at Maquet Cardiopulmonary GmbH. As a key member of our Research and Development department, you will be responsible for the development and sustainment of our medical device products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and maintain medical device products for cardiovascular and respiratory support in cardiac surgery and intensive care medicine.
  • Initiate, lead, and execute change requests to improve and maintain our product portfolio.
  • Analyze technical issues and develop solutions.
  • Support and collaborate with regulatory projects.
  • Develop and update technical specifications for components and assemblies (3D models, 2D drawings).
  • Support the procurement and quality departments in selecting suppliers and testing components.
  • Work closely with production to provide technical support.
  • Develop, review, and approve specifications, reports, and technical documentation in a highly regulated environment.
  • Plan and evaluate investigations of returned products (Customer Complaints) and derive corrective actions.

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in an engineering field (preferably in medical technology, materials science, mechanical engineering, or process engineering) or equivalent experience.
  • Experience and knowledge in the development of medical devices.
  • Proficiency in 3D CAD software, preferably SolidWorks.
  • Knowledge of quality management for medical devices (ISO 13485 / 21 CFR 820).
  • Excellent communication skills, strong initiative, and teamwork abilities.
  • Very good English language skills (written and spoken).
