Position Overview

We are seeking multiple Cloud Infrastructure Developers (m/f/d) to join our team, focusing on innovative IT solutions.

Contribute to the Advancement of Digital Services

The Federal Office for Migration and Refugees is committed to enhancing its digital capabilities and ensuring that its legal responsibilities are met effectively amidst evolving challenges.

Our IT department is dedicated to a microservices-based infrastructure, developing future-proof IT solutions within a modern work environment. We leverage cutting-edge technologies, including blockchain and artificial intelligence, while establishing a container-based cloud platform.

The software development sector is central to our operations, encompassing a wide range of tasks from application development in asylum and integration systems to middleware services and cross-agency interfaces.

Your Responsibilities
  • Utilize your expertise in software and service development with contemporary technologies and programming languages throughout the development, testing, and deployment phases, while also supporting other development teams in applying these technologies.
  • Oversee the maintenance and optimization of cloud infrastructure and platform services, as well as application software and foundational services.
  • Manage application operations, including monitoring, analysis, and troubleshooting of issues.
  • Develop concepts and guidelines for automating the setup and operation of development and production environments.
Your Qualifications
  • A completed (technical) university degree at least at the bachelor level in fields such as computer science, business informatics, mathematics, or a related discipline with a focus on information technology.
  • Alternatively, a comparable diploma from a recognized vocational academy in the aforementioned fields is acceptable.
  • Applicants with a minimum of three years of professional experience in an IT role rated at pay groups 10 to 12 are also eligible.
  • Those who are nearing completion of their studies within three months of the application deadline may apply, with the final certificate to be submitted later.
  • Proven knowledge in the design and use of automation tools for continuous software delivery is advantageous.
  • Ideally, you can demonstrate your experience in DevOps-oriented application development, including concepts of continuous integration, delivery, and deployment.
  • Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., GIT, SVN) and development organization tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence) is beneficial.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, excellent communication abilities, and analytical and strategic thinking are essential.
  • Good command of German at a comparable C1 level according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages is required.
  • Willingness to undergo a basic security clearance is necessary.
