**Job Summary**
We are seeking a highly skilled Data Processing Clerk to join our team at U.S. Army Europe and Africa. As a Data Processing Clerk, you will be responsible for providing technical support and assistance to our network users, ensuring the smooth operation of our IT systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide complex IT support, including installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and customer assistance
- Assess and solve local IT-related problems
- Create, administer, and repair user and group accounts
- Administer user file shares and coordinate with security managers on network security issues
- Install and configure software applications and provide technical support
- Administer network security, including assigning user groups and permissions
- Ensure all workstations remain operational by monitoring them and identifying and reporting problems
- Analyze and diagnose difficult and complex hardware, software, networks, and systems problems
- Troubleshoot, investigate, and analyze actual or potential complex problems in system software, applications software interfacing, and/or IT equipment
- Develop and recommend standard problem resolution methodologies and procedures
- Coordinate with Signal and Network Enterprise specialists to identify IT improvements and ways to provide greater effectiveness and economy of services
- Develop plans for installing, configuring, troubleshooting, and maintaining user IT equipment and software
- Check installed systems and diagnose user problems encountered
- Resolve problems and conflicts when procured items do not meet prescribed specifications
- Investigate transmission/communications problems and coordinate solutions with specialists
- STIG all network equipment in accordance with army DISA prior adding to Active Directory; assign workstations, laptops, printers, and digital sender names to AD object in accordance with army naming schema and rules
- Maintain the Asset and Vulnerability Tracking Resource (A&VTR) database for the 405th LRC area of responsibility
- Support and troubleshoot hardware and software Information Assurance (IA) problems pertaining to their CE or NE as well as complying with system termination procedures
- Ensure that hardware, software, data, and facility resources are archived, sanitized, or disposed of in a manner consistent with system security plans and requirements
- Prepare Information Management Acquisition Requests (IMAR) for software and hardware, and keep record of all product keys
- Employee tracks warranty and reports broken equipment to the vendor/contractor for repair or replacement
- Manage Directorate Active Directory (AD) accounts and their compliance, and coordinate with local NEC system administrators of IT systems for standard baseline support
Requirements:
- 2 years of creditable experience as defined in A below PLUS 4 years of experience as defined in B below
- Current employees who do not meet E&T Level I and who are not in the same or similar occupation must have 2 additional years of creditable experience as described in A below
- English Language Proficiency Level C1 German Language Proficiency Level B2 required
- Office automation skills are required
- Applicants must be in possession of a German driver's license class B
