We are seeking a seasoned Senior Product Manager to join our dynamic team and spearhead the development and oversight of our consumer discovery solutions.
Central to our marketplace is the Discovery division. This team is actively engaged in constructing Search, Recommendation, and intent collection systems that empower our brands such as Foodpanda, Glovo, Pedidos Ya, and Talabat, handling millions of requests daily. The systems we design are vital for our online marketplaces, ensuring high availability and performance standards while delivering significant commercial value. They necessitate the creation of control loops through data, machine learning, and online serving systems to cater to millions of consumers globally.
Your objective is to perpetually enhance how we assist consumers in effortlessly and enjoyably finding and discovering their desired products. The ideal candidate will strike a balance between practicality and innovation, demonstrating forward-thinking leadership. You will be required to deliver business value promptly while strategically investing in capabilities that promise substantial long-term returns. An empathetic listener, you should be adept at recognizing and envisioning opportunities with a diverse array of partners.
- Formulate the product strategy, roadmap, and go-to-market approach for Discovery Solutions
- Establish relevant metrics to evaluate our effectiveness in achieving each goal and set clear targets for continuous improvement
- Develop and utilize comprehensive decision frameworks to align partner teams and leadership on marketplace expansion. Effectively influence peers and leadership for optimal outcomes
- Serve as the primary contact for inquiries, clarifications, and guidance on Discovery solutions
- Cultivate robust feedback mechanisms with peers managing our brand portfolio and partner-facing teams
- Address dependencies crucial to success and collaborate with peers in Data Science, Analytics, and other Platform teams to create effective operational models. Partner with Engineering to navigate sensible trade-offs between product and architectural investments
- Articulate strategy, plans, trade-offs, and progress through a consistent cadence of written and verbal communication to the Consumer Leadership team
Qualifications
- Over 5 years of product management experience in an eCommerce or Marketplace environment, with a background in orchestrating value delivery in an enterprise context where various teams manage different systems being a significant advantage
- Experience collaborating with a globally distributed team and the capability to manage communications and product delivery across multiple time zones
- Strong familiarity with Marketplace principles; demonstrated ability to apply these to enhance business outcomes
- Previous experience in machine learning, with knowledge of statistical data analytics techniques; experience in end-to-end ML product delivery
- Proven track record of translating business strategy into a detailed product roadmap, yielding measurable, long-term positive impacts on business performance
- Experience in feature delivery and navigating product trade-offs
- Involvement in engineering discussions regarding technology decisions and strategies related to a product
- Analytical and data-driven; proficient in defining appropriate metrics, collaborating effectively with engineers and data scientists, and keeping teams motivated and accountable to meet targets.
