Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Cloud Security Architect to join our team at Babbel. As a key member of our security team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing secure cloud architectures, ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of our systems and data.

Key Responsibilities
  • Technical Analysis and Review: Perform technical analysis and review of systems architectures, including cloud-native solutions, with a focus on AWS.
  • Collaboration and Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including infrastructure teams, software developers, technical product managers, and engineers.
  • Security Measures Implementation: Support the implementation of technical and organizational information security measures.
  • Due Diligence and Incident Response: Participate in information security relevant due diligence activities and conduct and support information security incident response activities.
  • Automation and Compliance: Automate information security relevant activities, including monitoring compliance with security policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • Technical Security Knowledge: General understanding of technical security measures, including encryption, IAM, OAuth, firewalls, and network access control lists.
  • Cloud Security Expertise: In-depth knowledge of cloud security measures, services, and architecture in AWS (and GCP as a plus) and hold AWS security relevant certifications.
  • System Engineering Knowledge: System engineering knowledge, including technical architectures, networking, and SDLC.
  • Business Tools and Enterprise Architecture: Familiarity with relevant business tools and enterprise architecture, as well as common information security tools.
  • Information Security Operations: Understanding of information security operations, attacks, and corresponding incident response.
  • Ownership and Prioritization: Ownership mindset for tasks, prioritization, and focus on the most important and urgent tasks.
  • Communication and Cybersecurity Awareness: Fluency in written and spoken English, including technical terminology, and great awareness of cybersecurity trends and hacking techniques.
  • Scripting and Programming Skills: Experience in using Terraform for IaC (especially AWS, GitHub, and GCP) and basic scripting and programming skills (preferably in JavaScript, Go, Ruby, and Python).
