Job Title: MEAL Officer - Health Specialist

Malteser International is seeking a highly motivated and experienced MEAL Officer - Health Specialist to support our humanitarian and transitional aid projects in Northwestern Syria and Türkiye.

Job Summary:

The MEAL Officer - Health Specialist will be responsible for designing and implementing monitoring plans aligned with project goals, providing technical support to partners on monitoring and evaluation best practices, and ensuring the quality of data collection. The successful candidate will have a strong background in health projects and experience in designing and implementing MEAL systems in humanitarian or development projects.

Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with partners to design and implement a monitoring plan aligned with project goals.
  • Provide technical support to partners on monitoring and evaluation best practices.
  • Regularly assess partner accountability and offer guidance for improvement.
  • Address monitoring challenges with partners and update the learning system.
  • Review partner reports, contribute to project reports, and ensure quality data collection.
  • Evaluate partner performance against set criteria.
  • Manage project M&E plans and ensure proper storage of project documents.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Monitoring and Evaluation, Development Studies, public health etc.)
  • 4 years Proven experience in designing and implementing MEAL systems in humanitarian or development projects.
  • Working experience in health projects is an advantage.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with proficiency in statistical analysis software.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Fluency in English with excellent written communication skills, Arabic or Turkish is an advantage.
