We are seeking a highly qualified and internationally recognized scholar to fill the position of Associate Professor in German as a Foreign Language with a focus on linguistics at the Department of German and Comparative Studies. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching and research in the field of German as a foreign language, with a focus on linguistics.
Key Responsibilities:- Teach German as a foreign language in all bachelor's and master's degree programs, as well as in relevant teaching degree programs (elementary school and all types of secondary school)
- Participate in the research training group "Die konstruktionsgrammatische Galaxis" (the construction grammar galaxy) and in research activities at the interdisciplinary linguistics centers
- Contribute to international collaboration and exchange programs
- Develop and implement research projects, secure third-party funding, and demonstrate a strong track record of research productivity
- Engage in student mentoring and academic advising
- Ph.D. in German as a Foreign Language or a related field
- International recognition in research and teaching
- Substantial research experience abroad and/or experience in managing research projects and securing third-party funding
- University degree and outstanding doctoral degree
- Passion for education and relevant teaching experience
- Ability and willingness to teach in both German and English
