About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled Cloud Engineer to join our Application Performance Management (APM) team in Walldorf. As a Cloud Engineer, you will play a key role in bridging the gap between application and infrastructure, ensuring seamless performance and scalability of our cloud-based solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement scalable cloud solutions using Golang, Kubernetes, and other relevant technologies.
- Develop and operate highly available cloud infrastructure, ensuring seamless experience for engineers in a multi-tenancy cloud environment.
- Automate tasks, including self-healing mechanisms, to ensure high uptime and performance.
- Collaborate with development teams to support their daily operational work and ensure smooth deployment of applications.
- Stay up-to-date with new technologies and introduce them to the team to promote innovation and create business value.
- Communicate technical problems and understand business requirements to ensure alignment with company goals.
- Participate in on-call duty to ensure prompt resolution of issues.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Business Informatics, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
- 5+ years of experience working as an engineer, with expertise in Go, Java, Python, or Bash/Power Shell, and experience in managing cloud infrastructure.
- Good knowledge of operating Linux/Unix-based systems, understanding kernel, shell, scripting, etc.
- Familiarity with at least one cloud solution, such as Amazon AWS, Azure, Google, or Openstack.
- Experience with containers and orchestration platforms, such as Docker, Kubernetes, or others.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to drill down to the code level.
- Knowledge of software design, engineering, and architecture principles, including SOLID, DRY, and KISS.
- Code management using GitLab and GitHub.
- Strong understanding of software quality and a commitment to writing clean code.
- Excellent written and verbal English language skills.
Nice-to-Have Skills:
- Practical experience with observability, monitoring, and analytics tooling, such as Dynatrace, Grafana, or ELK.
- Practical experience or understanding of agile concepts, such as Scrum, Kanban, or pair programming, and lean principles.
