Wire Communications Equipment Installer

We are seeking a highly skilled Wire Communications Equipment Installer to join our team at U.S. Army Europe and Africa. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for installing, rehabilitating, modifying, and adjusting wire communications equipment, including telegraph and teletype equipment, intercom, and public address systems, alarm and signaling systems, and wire carrier equipment.
Key Responsibilities:- Install and repair inside wiring, and connect equipment to outside service wires.
- Engage in the installation of main and secondary cable distributors, cable distribution boxes, cable terminals, and subscriber stations, following work orders, cable plans, and diagrams.
- Test lead, plastic, and field cables, as well as distribution boxes and equipment, and determine electrical and mechanical faults and damages.
- Mark defective parts, prepare test documents, and forward them to the supervisor.
- Receive materials and install them in a proper manner.
- Work on projects of aerial and buried cable line installation, cable installation and relocation in ducts and buildings, and temporary and permanent field cable lines.
- Perform maintenance and rehabilitation of these installations.
- Assist in setting up and dismantling material depots and bivouacs, as required.
- Instruct personnel in lower grades in the technical requirements of the job orders, and assist in familiarization training of newly instated personnel.
- Operate various kinds of power tools, and motor vehicles to transport personnel and material to, from, and between project sites.
- Completed vocational training of at least 21 months in the appropriate trade.
- 3 years of specialized experience.
- German driver's class B required.
- German driver's class C desired.
- English Language Proficiency level A1 and German Language Proficiency level C1 required.
