About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Engineer to join our team at Lufthansa Technik AG. As a Data Engineer, you will play a key role in developing and maintaining our data pipelines, ensuring the smooth operation of our data-driven systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, implement, and maintain large-scale data pipelines using technologies such as Python, Terraform, Kubernetes, and Pub/Sub.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify business requirements and develop data-driven solutions.
  • Develop and maintain automated testing, CI/CD, and build pipelines to ensure high-quality data delivery.
  • Work closely with DevOps teams to ensure seamless integration with existing infrastructure.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies to recommend improvements to our data architecture.
Requirements
  • Completed degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • At least two years of experience in data engineering, with a focus on big data/analytics environments.
  • Experience with one or more major cloud providers (GCP/Azure/AWS).
  • Proficiency in software development with Python, including knowledge of tools such as Jupyter, VS Code, PyCharm, git, virtual environments, and CLI.
  • Knowledge of automated testing, CI/CD, build pipelines, and monitoring.
  • Confident application of DevOps/SRE principles.
  • Experience with technologies such as Kubernetes/OpenShift, Docker, SQL/NoSQL databases, messaging (Pub/Sub, Kafka, Azure Event Hubs), Airflow, and Apache Beam.

This role allows for a remote component with occasional presence at our main location in Hamburg.
