We are seeking a highly skilled Housing Specialist to join our team at U.S. Army Europe and Africa. As a key member of our housing department, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our on-post and off-post housing programs.
Key Responsibilities- Review and process permanent and temporary change of station travel orders for housing applications
- Determine applicant eligibility for housing and calculate waiting times for on-post and off-post housing
- Coordinate with General Officers and other key personnel to determine housing requirements
- Review and prepare certificates of non-availability for on-post housing
- Respond to customer inquiries and provide customer service
- Maintain the Army system of record database related to housing
- Issue housing offer letters and assign new residents to housing
- Prepare and submit housing assignment and termination orders
- Schedule and perform change of occupancy inspections
- Perform facility maintenance and cleanliness inspections
- Maintain key accountability and operate the automated General/Flag Officer Module
- Prepare correspondence and reports for signatory approval
- Update the Army database to ensure accurate tracking of occupancy and change of occupancy data
- 2 years of creditable experience in a related field, plus 1 year of experience in a similar occupation
- Experience in clerical work, working with computers, bookkeeping, and inventory management
- Experience in a similar line of work, demonstrating knowledge, skills, and abilities required for the position
- German driver's license class B
- Office automation skills
- English Language Proficiency level B2 and German Language Proficiency level C1
This is a temporary full-time position, 38.5 hours per week, until the return of the permanent incumbent. The position may be filled at the C-05, C-05a, or C-06 level. The incumbent may be non-competitively promoted to the next higher level upon completion of required training and recommendation of supervisor.
