Job Description

As the leader of the LiDAR product group in the Mobility business field, you will be responsible for steering and coordinating the LiDAR research activities of the entire institute. You will be in charge of the business development of LiDAR detectors and cameras for mobile applications on the road (autonomous driving) and in the air (landing site recognition). You will take into account customer wishes and market perspectives in your planning and utilize the research results from ongoing projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • You will identify promising applications for our technology portfolio through discussions with industry companies and continuous observation of the state of the art.
  • You will develop research approaches and innovative business ideas and design technology roadmaps to implement these ideas in collaboration with the specialist departments and project leaders.
  • You will acquire public and private funded projects to implement your roadmap. To do this, you will build an international network of industry partners, public clients, and universities in collaboration with your product group, among other things, through visits to trade fairs and conferences.
Requirements
  • You have a completed scientific degree (Master or university diploma) in electrical engineering, computer science, physics, economics, or a comparable field.
  • Knowledge in the areas of sensorics, microelectronics, and business development is an advantage.
  • You have high personal responsibility and motivation for creating and implementing a long-term technology roadmap.
  • You have a secure appearance in dealing with external partners, customers, and other stakeholders, as well as fun in presenting in German and English.

The position is initially limited to three years. However, we are interested in a longer-term cooperation. The weekly working hours are 39 hours. The position can also be filled part-time. An appointment, remuneration, and social benefits are based on the collective agreement for the public sector (TVöD). In addition, Fraunhofer may grant performance- and success-dependent variable remuneration components.
