About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Center Inventory Specialist to join our team at Microsoft. As a key member of our Cloud Operations & Innovation (CO+I) group, you will play a critical role in delivering the core infrastructure and foundational technologies for Microsoft's online services.

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day operations, ensuring smooth and effective inbound and outbound processes.
  • Assess resource and workflow patterns to identify areas for improvement and optimize work assignments.
  • Support project planning, management, and communication with stakeholders and teams.
  • Ensure issues are documented, tracked, and resolved with internal and external stakeholders and suppliers.
  • Coordinate relationships with third-party vendors for DBD destruction, ensuring secure and compliant processes.
  • Comply with established methodologies and approaches to deliver contracts and purchase orders.
  • Process price and procurement requests for server, network, and storage requirements.
  • Provide thought leadership and monitor outcomes.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert and model compliance to junior team members.
  • Conduct daily safety briefings and provide guidance on safety procedures.
  • Seek opportunities to contribute to workstreams and evolve processes towards greater simplification and automation.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma and 3+ years of experience in warehouse/supply chain in an IT environment, inventory management, retail, warehouse management, logistics, or a related field.
  • Ability to meet Microsoft's security screening requirements, including a Microsoft Cloud Background Check.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in warehouse/supply chain in an IT environment, IT, and/or logistics, operating heavy-load movement equipment.
  • Project management experience.
  • Certification in APICS/ASCM, IAITAM, Inventory Control, or equivalent.
