Research Focus: Investigating the Role of TP53 Mutants in Cancer Progression
Job Summary: We are seeking a highly motivated PhD researcher to join our team at the Universität Konstanz. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to conduct research in the field of biomedical data sciences and bioinformatics, with a focus on understanding the molecular mechanisms underlying TP53 mutants in cancer progression.
Responsibilities:
- Design and implement multi-omics data analysis strategies and workflows
- Analyse multi-omics experimental datasets to unravel the molecular circuitries altered by mutant TP53
- Develop and apply data science tools and approaches to investigate the clinical relevance of our experimental observations
- Contribute to publications and presentations of our research group
- Design and implement web-based user interfaces for result reporting and presentation
Requirements:
- Master's degree in a quantitative field or in a medical/biological field with some experience in Bioinformatics/data analysis
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team (in English language)
- Intrinsic motivation and interest in understanding and studying the nature of life
- Passion to analyse and understand large sequencing and clinical datasets
- Skills in programming and analysing data, i.e. some experience with programming languages such as R, Python, Bash,...
