Operational Technology Cybersecurity Specialist

Mission Overview As an Operational Technology Cybersecurity Specialist (M/F/D), you will be a key member of our IT/Information security team, dedicated to safeguarding the IONITY high power charging network. This role emphasizes the establishment and ongoing enhancement of a robust OT cybersecurity framework, focusing on the backend connections to charging stations and the grid, ensuring compliance with current national and European cybersecurity regulations and standards. You will serve as the primary consultant for all security-related inquiries concerning our charging network and equipment. Collaborating with security professionals from our hardware suppliers, you will work to maintain a high level of security for our operational technology.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and continuous enhancement (PDCA) of an OT cybersecurity framework
- Conduct regular system monitoring and risk evaluations
- Provide consultancy and training for internal staff and external partners
- Integrate and align the OT cybersecurity framework with existing SOC / SIEM / ISMS
- Participate in on-call security shifts (weekly / remote)
- Relevant qualification or degree in computer engineering, electrical engineering, computer science, or a related technical discipline
- Proficient in conducting cybersecurity risk evaluations specific to OT systems and environments
- Familiar with relevant cybersecurity standards and legal requirements
- Skilled in structured documentation of cybersecurity-related materials (e.g., ISMS principles)
- Knowledgeable in securing IT aspects of OT networks (Segmentation, Intrusion Detection and Prevention Systems IDS/IPS, Network monitoring)
- Understanding of security monitoring and alerting tools/principles
- Experience in performing OT cybersecurity evaluations/audits/consultancy
- Background in monitoring and securing OT network architectures
- Familiarity with JIRA/Confluence, KANBAN, and agile methodologies
- Knowledge of standard technical e-mobility charging regulations, protocols, and best practices
- Understanding of security frameworks (e.g., TISAX / ISO27001)
- Awareness of SOC procedures
- Familiarity with ICS/SCADA operations
- Insight into ICS components, including SCADA systems, PLCs, DCS, and other OT devices
