Job Title: Corporate Data Protection Manager

GLS is a leading international parcel delivery company seeking a highly skilled Corporate Data Protection Manager to join our team. As a key member of our Corporate Compliance & Directives team, you will play a crucial role in developing and implementing our Group-wide Data Protection Framework.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and further refine the Corporate Data Protection Framework, with a focus on compliance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation.
  • Design and implement data protection guidance, training, and awareness measures to strengthen data protection across the international GLS organization.
  • Provide expert support and leadership to local Data Protection Managers in 18 European countries, including organizing yearly in-person meetings and providing input on location as needed.
  • Act as a liaison between the GLS Group IT organization and provide legal advice and coordination on data protection compliance for IT projects with Group-wide relevance.
  • Represent GLS towards Data Protection Authorities and other external stakeholders, preparing communication documents and presentations for top management.
Requirements:
  • Fully qualified lawyer in an EU jurisdiction with specialization in European data protection law and 3+ years of experience in a comparable role, ideally in an international corporation.
  • Solid understanding of technical and economic relationships, with a strong affinity for IT topics.
  • High level of organizational skills and a structured approach to work, with experience in process and project management.
  • Fluency in English and the ability to present legal and technical issues in a practical manner.
