We are seeking a Technical Communications Manager who will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of mobility. The Technical Communications Manager will be responsible for producing high-quality documentation that is crucial to the success of our products. This role involves working closely with Sales and Engineering teams to effectively communicate the comprehensive nature of our product offerings in responses to Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and to guide our communications and media strategies for market positioning. You will collaborate with internal teams to gain a thorough understanding of the product and its documentation needs, ensuring that all produced materials meet relevant standards and are tailored to the intended audience.

The ideal candidate will exhibit ownership by leading multiple projects from initial discovery through to execution and delivery, working closely with senior leadership on technical requirements, and maintaining systems and tools that enhance overall efficiency and effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the successful development and execution of compelling responses to Requests for Proposals (RFPs) within the transportation sector.
  • Ensure that all responses comply with editorial and customer specifications, adhering to established standards for content, quality, graphics, format, and style.
  • Develop and maintain a requirements database to enhance navigation and discoverability.
  • Monitor deadlines to guarantee timely completion of deliverables.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including Business Development, Engineering, and Customer Success, to align deliverables and priorities.
  • Contribute to the development of long-form thought leadership materials, such as white papers, industry communications, user guides, and Quick-Start guides.
  • Assist in the upkeep of sales collateral, marketing materials, and our social media presence.

Required Qualifications and Skills:

  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant technical writing experience, particularly with major product releases and software requirements.
  • Proven expertise in proposal writing, with experience in business development and competitive proposals.
  • Familiarity with responding to public sector procurements, especially within the transportation industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of technology environments and platforms, along with software development processes.
  • Experience in requirements management, with a preference for governmental experience.
  • Exceptional attention to detail in delivering high-quality documentation.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills; ability to articulate complex concepts clearly and concisely.
  • Capability to quickly comprehend intricate technical concepts and present them in an understandable manner through text and visuals.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with a proven ability to effectively manage competing priorities.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in a related field of study is preferred or equivalent experience.

Preferred Qualifications and Skills:

  • Understanding of the Shipley proposal process.
  • Proficiency in managing a Salesforce CRM environment.
  • Familiarity with the Evolve Way of Working (WoW) process.
  • A graduate degree or MBA is advantageous.
