Position Overview
As a seasoned engineer specializing in comprehensive API development, you will be tasked with creating integrations with various German systems. In your senior role, you will engage in the scoping, researching, planning, and execution of integrations between our platform and a variety of German systems, including Datev, Destatis, and ISBJ.
Your responsibilities will include leading the requirements phase with our significant customer partners whose systems we aim to connect with. This will also involve participating as a technical Sales Engineer during discussions with potential enterprise clients.
You will be integrated into one of their platform teams while also contributing to other domains such as developer tools, security enhancements, and platform infrastructure. However, your primary emphasis will be on developing integrations, and you should possess extensive expertise in API development and interfacing with external systems. Furthermore, you will be engaged in hands-on development tasks as an engineer.
Key Responsibilities:
- Enhancing client integration capabilities to encompass APIs, Webhook systems, and integration platforms.
- Designing and implementing integrations with external systems via APIs.
- Coordinating with external system providers for seamless integration.
- Collaborating with essential stakeholders, including clients.
- Participating in technical pre-sales discussions with enterprise customers.
- Assisting in responding to tenders for public contracts necessitating integrations.
- Contributing to the development of general features.
Qualifications:
- Extensive experience in system integration utilizing various technologies, including REST API, GraphQL, and queue-based messaging.
- Proficiency in German, both written and spoken.
- Ability to thrive in a multicultural environment.
- A passion for tackling highly complex interactions with other systems.
- Capability to interpret technical documentation and architect solutions accordingly.
- A strong commitment to building resilient systems and integrations.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with Scala or other JVM programming languages.
- Experience with PHP.
- Prior exposure to DATEV, ISBJ, or Destatis.
- Experience in pre-sales technical discussions.
