Head of Data Engineering Solutions

As the Head of Data Engineering Solutions at OBI Group Holding SE & Co. KGaA, you will play a pivotal role in our Data Platform Engineering division, where we create cutting-edge solutions to enhance our internal analytical functions.
Our platform integrates industry-standard technologies such as AWS, Databricks, Snowflake, Airflow, and Airbyte, alongside bespoke tools, allowing us to process data efficiently and derive significant insights.
We are looking for individuals who are enthusiastic about automation, integration, and scalability, and who are ready to influence the future of data analysis.
Leadership Responsibilities:
- Guide and mentor the Data Platform Engineering team, promoting professional development and a culture of ongoing enhancement.
- Design, implement, and refine a resilient data platform utilizing AWS.
- Integrate various technologies with an emphasis on scalability, cost-effectiveness, and innovation.
Collaborative Engagement:
- Collaborate closely with data science, analytics, and product teams to ensure platform capabilities meet business requirements.
- Hold a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
- Possess approximately 10+ years of experience in software engineering, including at least 3 years in a leadership or senior technical role.
- Demonstrate strong expertise in designing and constructing scalable systems, including microservices, APIs, and distributed systems using languages such as Python or Rust.
- Exhibit proficiency in SQL and NoSQL databases, as well as data processing frameworks like Spark.
- Have experience with major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and infrastructure management tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.
- Be familiar with advanced data tools and frameworks such as Databricks, Snowflake, Airflow, and Airbyte.
