Lead Power Systems Consultant

As a pivotal member of Elia Grid International (EGI), you will engage in addressing intricate challenges in the energy sector. EGI, a distinguished engineering consultancy, is part of the Elia Group and 50Hertz, focusing on innovative solutions for the energy transition.

Your Role
We are seeking seasoned professionals to enhance our Power System Operations and Security team. This role is crucial in facilitating the integration of renewable energy sources and ensuring the stability of energy markets. You will contribute to both local and international projects aimed at improving the sustainability and efficiency of power systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Conducting analyses and defining operational protocols;
- Developing and validating models;
- Performing steady-state calculations (load flow, short circuit analysis, etc.);
- Executing dynamic stability assessments (frequency and voltage stability);
- Conducting studies on Grid Code compliance and connection requirements;
- Evaluating grid reliability and security (capacity calculations, operational planning, etc.);
- Collaborating with business development teams to identify opportunities and foster client relationships.
Your Qualifications
- Master's degree in Engineering or Applied Mathematics/Physics;
- Over 10 years of experience in Power System Operations and Security, particularly in balancing and renewable energy integration;
- Proven ability to translate complex data into actionable insights;
- Familiarity with power system simulation tools (e.g., PowerFactory, PSSE);
- Fluency in English; knowledge of German, Dutch, or French is advantageous.
