Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Tie Cable Coordinator to join our team at Vectrus. As a Tie Cable Coordinator, you will be responsible for a variety of duties related to the operations, engineering, maintenance, and technical assistance of Tie Cable systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support emergency restoration, relocation, and extension/expansion of Long Distance Copper and Fiber Optic cables.
  • Perform 24x7 service restoration, testing, and maintenance using complex fault isolation, incorporating OTDR, Metallic Copper TDR, Power Loss test equipment, and AutoCAD drawing documentation.
  • Ensure that repairs, relocations, extension/expansions, and new cable projects are performed to TIA/EIA -598 (Bellcore) and 2d Theater Signal Brigade standards.
  • Coordinate and plan repairs, relocations, and extension/expansions, mobilize/supervise repair crews for civil work.
  • Interact with host nation real estate contacts to obtain necessary permits.
  • Assure that Tie Cable as-built and test documentation is maintained and updated.
  • Respond and process Tie Cable related inquiries by host nation, civil companies, and US Government.
  • Prepare cost estimates, Tasker information, and work completion documentation.
  • Provide expert technical direction in determining maintenance requirements and repair costs.
Requirements
  • Training in Inside & Outside cable plant maintenance and repair, plus fiber optic cable splicing techniques, and fiber optic cable fault isolation and acceptance testing.
  • Ability to interpret Copper and Fiber Optic Cable test results.
  • Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English and German, to include the ability to comprehend and interpret complex electronic and technical data, schematics, and logic diagrams.
  • Valid Driver's license for light non-tactical vehicles (sedans and mini-vans).
  • Experience in Tie Cable documentation, emergency repair response, and knowledge of cable standards such as CDS, ICDS & Cabling System Standard.
  • Experience with Copper and Fiber Optic Cable solutions and US Government performance standards.
  • Proficiency with interpretation and/or development of blue prints for Tie Cable mapping using AutoCAD and Tie Cable software applications.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Skills to operate desktop computer software to include AutoCAD, word processing, graphics, spreadsheets, and other software programs used by the US Forces.
