About the Position

We are seeking a highly qualified individual to fill a Lectureship in English Linguistics at the Universität Konstanz. The successful candidate will be part of a dynamic and international research environment, contributing to the department's excellence in linguistics.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach 9 hours per week per semester, covering various aspects of English linguistics
  • Supervise student theses at all levels, providing guidance and support
  • Academically advise MA Linguistics students, including those pursuing the Double Degree Verona
  • Conduct independent research in English and general linguistics, publishing high-quality papers
  • Apply for third-party funding and participate in larger research initiatives
  • Share administrative duties within English linguistics
Requirements
  • Doctorate in a relevant area of linguistics, with a degree certificate in hand by the application deadline
  • Strong research profile in English linguistics, demonstrated by multiple publications
  • Record of high-quality teaching in multiple areas of English linguistics
  • Excellent level of written and spoken English (C2 CEFR)
  • German skills at least B1 CEFR
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
