Logistics Coordinator

Schenker Deutschland AG is seeking a dedicated and organized Transport Manager/Dispatcher for local routes to join our team in Trier.

In this role, you will play a vital part in ensuring the smooth operation of our transportation network. Your responsibilities will encompass coordinating and managing all aspects of local deliveries and pickups, utilizing a fleet ranging from 7.5-ton trucks to 40-ton trucks.

  • Coordination & Dispatching: Efficiently plan and manage routes for local transportation vehicles and drivers, ensuring timely and reliable delivery services.
  • Operational Oversight: Monitor the progress of deliveries and pickups, addressing any issues or delays promptly and effectively.
  • Subcontractor Management: Oversee a network of subcontractors and their drivers, including procurement, training, deployment, and performance evaluation.
  • Special Transportation Services: Organize and supervise specialized transportation services as required, ensuring adherence to specific client needs and regulations.
  • Interdepartmental Collaboration: Work closely with internal departments such as customer service, long-distance transportation, and warehouse operations to ensure seamless coordination and efficient workflow.
  • Quality Assurance: Maintain strict adherence to quality standards and procedures, ensuring compliance with industry best practices.

Your Profile:

  • Previous experience in logistics is beneficial but not mandatory. A strong understanding of transportation operations and principles is highly valued.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the local area within an 80 km radius of Trier, including Luxembourg, is essential for effective route planning and navigation.
  • Proficiency in PC skills, particularly MS Office Suite, is required for efficient data management and communication.
  • Fluency in German is mandatory. Additional knowledge of English and French is a significant advantage.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and analytical skills are crucial for success in this role.
  • A flexible work ethic and the ability to thrive in a team environment are essential qualities.
