Volocopter GmbH is seeking a highly skilled Power Distribution Certification Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for ensuring the electrical power distribution system of our aircraft meets the highest safety and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and develop high voltage and low voltage power distribution systems and components.
- Review and verify design data, testing, inspection, and analysis documentation to ensure compliance with EASA, FAA, and other regulatory requirements.
- Develop and maintain in-depth knowledge of electrical power distribution standards and regulations, including SC-VTOL, EASA CS25, and IEC standards.
- Communicate effectively with certification authorities, suppliers, and partners to resolve compliance issues and ensure successful certification.
- Contribute to the development of the Electric Propulsion System Certification Plan and review potential updates to ensure compliance with certification requirements.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of electrical power distribution systems and components, including high voltage and low voltage power centers, circuit breaker panels, and electrical control panels.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Fluent in English.
- Experience with EUROCAE's Working group WG-112 SG-1 / Electrical discussing ED-296 and ED-290 or equivalent.
- Knowledge of IEC standards and their application to electrical power distribution safety in aircraft.
- Understanding of electrical components for aviation, including HV and LV fuses, HV and LV SSPCs, and HV to LV DC-DC converters.
