Position Summary
As a Data Scientist in the Help Experience sector, you will join a collaborative team dedicated to creating a seamless, scalable, and cost-efficient support experience for our users. Your focus will be on enhancing quality and efficiency through automation, self-service solutions, and operational excellence.
We seek an individual who is a strategic thinker and adept problem solver with a robust data background, who aspires to achieve high standards. You thrive in dynamic environments and are passionate about the products we develop together.
In addition to your product team, you will engage with the cross-domain Data Science & Analytics (DSA) guild, where you will collaborate and learn from fellow data professionals at Vinted. Within the DSA department, we have three distinct roles:
Decision Scientists focus on delivering actionable insights, identifying opportunities, and creating automated tools that enhance the quality of product and business decisions through statistical methods and data-driven strategies.
Analytics Engineers are tasked with data curation, translating stakeholder data needs into the architecture, construction, and maintenance of efficient and reliable data models and pipelines.
Data Scientists are responsible for recognizing algorithmic opportunities, ensuring optimal solutions are implemented, and designing, developing, and maintaining production-grade statistical and machine learning algorithms.
You will report to the Director of Data Science & Analytics in Help Experience and collaborate closely with other leaders in the domain, particularly within the data science & analytics and product functions.
Key Responsibilities
Collaborate with your team and stakeholders to proactively identify data science opportunities. Ensure these opportunities are addressed optimally, balancing algorithmic complexity with impact. Work on production-level LLMs and develop other machine learning models to enhance customer support agent productivity. Collaborate with your team and partners (Product Owner, Designer, Engineers) to refine, implement, and test new product features and algorithms. Engage with data across multiple languages. Take ownership of your work, writing clean, comprehensible code, and contribute to the team's scientific and data software. Mentor data and decision scientists to enhance their statistical knowledge. Foster a culture of experimentation within the Help Experience domain.Candidate Profile
Extensive experience as a Data Scientist with a strong data focus or 5+ years of equivalent experience. Proficient in Python. Fluent in SQL; experience with dbt and BigQuery is advantageous. Solid understanding of statistics (frequentist, Bayesian, time series). Experience with machine learning in a production setting and familiarity with frameworks (e.g., scikit-learn, XGBoost, PyTorch, TensorFlow). Familiarity with Large Language Models (OpenAI's GPT, Hugging Face, LangChain, RAG, Vector Embeddings, LLaMA, or other open-source models) utilized at scale in production. Proven ability to break down projects into manageable components and lead them to successful completion, demonstrating strong project management skills. Strong problem-solving abilities and a results-oriented mindset. A collaborative team player with a pragmatic and iterative approach, possessing excellent communication skills.Benefits
