Corporate Communications Manager Role Overview

Responsibilities of the Corporate Communications Manager may include:
- Formulating, planning, and executing corporate communication strategies that align with regional business goals and divisional priorities through media, social platforms, leadership, and employee communications, in harmony with global and regional communication strategies.
- With a comprehensive understanding of the corporate narrative, ensure uniformity of brand messaging across various channels and representatives. Maintain a schedule of opportunities.
- Source, craft, edit, and disseminate engaging narratives about Boston Scientific, our core values, and our personnel through both internal and external communication channels.
- As a collaborative partner, engage closely with stakeholders to comprehend the business landscape and provide strategic advice as necessary to uphold and enhance the company's reputation.
- Oversee the calendar of EMEA media engagements and coordinate the efforts of PR agencies and freelance resources, in close collaboration with global teams. Serve as a liaison for journalists and cultivate relationships with key media outlets.
- Proactively manage communications regarding reputation challenges that may arise, preparing and supporting effective spokespeople and coordinating our response.
- Own the internal communications framework for the division and provide guidance on the development of content, channels, and frequency mix for optimal impact.
- Employ a data-driven methodology to assess the effectiveness of communication initiatives and proactively leverage insights to enhance future campaigns and strengthen internal collaborations.
- Secure and oversee a budget.
- Manage communication vendors to ensure consistency, quality, value, and innovation in their approaches.
- As a senior member of the corporate communications team, mentor internal partners and junior team members, such as interns, as needed.
- Advocate for innovation and continuous enhancement; lead team and process improvement initiatives as part of the EMEA Corporate Communications team.
To thrive in this role, candidates should possess:
- Exceptional written, verbal, and visual communication skills.
- A degree in communications or a related field.
- Proficiency in English is essential, with fluency in an additional EMEA language being highly desirable.
- Extensive experience in managing complex communication environments, ideally with some pan-European or international exposure.
- Preferred experience in the healthcare sector, whether from an agency or corporate perspective (e.g., MedTech, pharmaceuticals, hospitals, or PR agencies specializing in health).
- Proven ability to work under tight deadlines with excellent follow-through capabilities.
- Anticipated travel of 20-30% primarily within Europe for major congresses and Boston Scientific offices.
