Control Systems Software Engineer

Job Summary:
Nordex Group is seeking a skilled Control Systems Software Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our control systems team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing control technology functions for wind turbines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop software functions for control systems using Model-Based-Design and code generation approach.
- Implement software functions on programmable logic controllers (PLC) according to requirements.
- Define test and acceptance criteria for closed loop control of wind turbines.
- Perform quality assurance through software tests on HiL setup and on-site at wind turbines.
- Create related software documentation.
- Collaborate with various departments in an international environment to investigate and analyze complex control issues.
Requirements:
- Master's or Ph.D. degree in Mechanical, Control, Aerospace, or Electrical Engineering.
- Good experience in PLC software development using Matlab/Simulink is mandatory, IEC61131 is nice to have.
- Good knowledge of industrial communications protocols (Profinet, ModBus TCP, CAN...).
- Good knowledge of control design techniques (Robust Control, Kalman Filters).
- Desirable experience in Predictive Control, Fault Tolerant Control, System Identification, and Machine Learning Algorithms.
- Desirable experience with Embedded Coding Generation and RT systems for control applications.
- English language skills (very good written and spoken). Ideally, skills in German or Spanish.
- Independent, reliable, and systematic/structured way of working. Strong communication and team skills paired with intercultural competence.
- Minimum work experience of 2-3 years.
- Availability to travel.
