Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Chemical Laboratory Assistant to join our team at the Max Rubner-Institut. As a key member of our research team, you will be responsible for conducting quantitative analyses of plant-based foods and human and animal samples using established methods.
Key Responsibilities
- Conducting independent quantitative analyses of plant-based foods and human and animal samples using established methods
- Developing and implementing new analytical methods under the guidance of senior researchers
- Planning and executing experiments, including sample preparation and measurement on relevant equipment (primarily HPLC systems)
- Software-based data evaluation and documentation of experiments
- Performing general laboratory tasks
- Supporting laboratory management in areas such as occupational safety, quality assurance, and, as needed, in the care and maintenance of laboratory equipment (e.g., HPLC systems)
Requirements
- A completed vocational training as a Chemical Laboratory Assistant or a comparable completed vocational training
- Good knowledge and practical experience in working with HPLC systems
- Good knowledge and practical experience in the field of sample preparation (e.g., sample homogenization, solid-phase extraction, liquid-liquid extraction, liquid-solid extraction)
Desirable Qualifications
- Practical experience in the analysis of food or blood, urine, tissue
- Proficiency in using common software packages such as MS Office
- Experience in occupational safety and quality assurance in a chemical-analytical laboratory
- Experience in performing maintenance on HPLC systems
- Good English language skills
