Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Chemical Laboratory Assistant to join our team at the Max Rubner-Institut. As a key member of our research team, you will be responsible for conducting quantitative analyses of plant-based foods and human and animal samples using established methods.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conducting independent quantitative analyses of plant-based foods and human and animal samples using established methods
  • Developing and implementing new analytical methods under the guidance of senior researchers
  • Planning and executing experiments, including sample preparation and measurement on relevant equipment (primarily HPLC systems)
  • Software-based data evaluation and documentation of experiments
  • Performing general laboratory tasks
  • Supporting laboratory management in areas such as occupational safety, quality assurance, and, as needed, in the care and maintenance of laboratory equipment (e.g., HPLC systems)

Requirements

  • A completed vocational training as a Chemical Laboratory Assistant or a comparable completed vocational training
  • Good knowledge and practical experience in working with HPLC systems
  • Good knowledge and practical experience in the field of sample preparation (e.g., sample homogenization, solid-phase extraction, liquid-liquid extraction, liquid-solid extraction)

Desirable Qualifications

  • Practical experience in the analysis of food or blood, urine, tissue
  • Proficiency in using common software packages such as MS Office
  • Experience in occupational safety and quality assurance in a chemical-analytical laboratory
  • Experience in performing maintenance on HPLC systems
  • Good English language skills
