Operational Systems Specialist

Amentum is seeking a Mission System Operator to fulfill a critical role in operational training. This position involves executing realistic training scenarios through a variety of mission systems across the European Area of Operation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate Ground-Based Air Defense (GBAD) system simulators and related equipment.
  • Apply aircrew survivability tactics and implement near-peer GBAD and Integrated Air Defense Systems (IADS) strategies in line with scenario controller and customer specifications.
  • Manage legacy Threat Emitters according to scenario requirements while adhering to classified training standards.
  • Transport, set up, conduct pre-mission checks, operate, and maintain all mobile, fixed, and support equipment.
  • Perform operator-level maintenance on all electronic systems.
  • Oversee the setup, teardown, and logistics of equipment in accordance with operational guidelines.
  • Drive necessary vehicles for the movement and operation of equipment.
  • Assist in loading and unloading equipment for transport by various means.
  • Ensure the secure transport of munitions.
  • Support maintenance personnel during equipment servicing.
  • Be prepared for travel to temporary duty assignments on short notice.
  • Report any equipment deficiencies to maintenance teams.
  • Conduct corrosion control and repairs on all operational equipment.
  • Document maintenance actions in the Integrated Maintenance Data System (IMDS).
  • Facilitate the transport of parts and equipment as needed.
  • Assist with inventory management and accountability of government-furnished property.
  • Propose improvements for equipment and operational procedures.

Additional Duties

  • Report facility issues to management.
  • Assist with office logistics as required.
  • Perform cleaning and maintenance tasks in various weather conditions.
  • Maintain cleanliness of all work areas and equipment.
  • Be capable of physical tasks including lifting and using office software.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Experience in a related field within a military environment.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficient in computer applications.
  • Valid driver's license and passport.
  • Ability to obtain necessary German driving licenses.
  • Prior experience in an overseas setting is preferred.
  • Must be eligible for a security clearance and maintain it throughout employment.
