Position Summary:
The Sales Manager for the Biotech/Biopharma sector will concentrate on the sales and application of PSG Biotech products, including brands like Quattroflow, Malema, em-tec, and Quantex, within the biopharmaceutical industry. This role is pivotal in driving sales initiatives and collaborating with various departments such as Marketing, Manufacturing, and Finance to enhance customer support and drive revenue growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drive incremental sales growth in the designated territory, which includes Northern Germany, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, and Finland, with an expected travel commitment of approximately 50%.
- Develop and implement innovative sales strategies that go beyond traditional order-taking methods.
- Utilize optimized sales and distribution channels to achieve sustainable growth.
- Contribute to the development of a market channel model for OEM, Direct, and Rep sales tailored to the biopharma landscape.
- Generate specifications through collaboration with OEMs, system integrators, and A&E firms.
- Analyze market share dynamics against competitors in the tube pump sector.
- Document and share successful strategies within the region and globally for marketing purposes.
- Employ goal-setting and project tracking processes to ensure accountability.
- Assist in the creation and management of sales and marketing budgets for biopharma initiatives.
- Engage with industry associations to establish leadership and visibility.
- Build relationships with top biopharma educational institutions in the assigned region.
- Participate in key sales projects, ensuring accurate data collection for optimal equipment matching.
- Provide training to team members focused on the biopharma/life sciences market.
- Conduct regular market analyses to stay ahead of changing business conditions.
- Support the development of customer feedback initiatives to identify new product opportunities.
- Collaborate with the Director of Business Development to identify potential acquisition targets.
- Generate marketing collateral and work closely with the marketing team to create necessary tools.
- Lead trade show participation for maximum impact.
- Assist in the development and tracking of sales leads.
- Collaborate with the global Biopharma sales team to facilitate information exchange.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of sales experience.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or a Science-related field.
- Self-motivated and capable of working independently.
- Excellent communication skills for effective plan dissemination and outcome reporting.
- Willingness to travel extensively within the assigned territory.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Salesforce, with a strong grasp of modern technologies.
- Demonstrated technical problem-solving abilities.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage at all organizational levels.
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Fluent in both German and English (C1 level or above).
