Position Overview:
Location: Germany Bayern Erlangen Remote vs. Office Hybrid (Remote/Office)
Key Responsibilities:
- Derive requirements for battery systems in accordance with various international standards and client specifications.
- Identify and articulate the requirements for system components.
- Facilitate and coordinate cross-functional teams for the definition, analysis, review, and approval of requirements.
- Assist in Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) and safety risk evaluations.
- Define and assess specific testing protocols for systems and components in collaboration with the testing department.
- Investigate the characteristics of various battery technologies.
Qualifications:
- Master's degree in chemical, electrical, or mechanical engineering, software engineering, or a related discipline.
- Extensive experience in the development of battery systems for energy storage applications, including modules and subcomponents or power conversion systems (PCS).
- In-depth knowledge of NFPA and various UL and IEC standards, such as NFPA 855, UL 9540, IEC61508, IEC62619, etc.
- Experience with stationary battery applications, including components, systems, and testing, is advantageous.
- Proficiency in instrumentation, measurement, calibration, and laboratory testing methodologies.
- Familiarity with requirements engineering tools such as Reqsuite, Doors, PTC Integrity, etc.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with a self-directed approach to work in a multicultural environment.
- Fluency in English is essential; proficiency in German is a plus.
