Position OverviewThe Manufacturing Engineer will be pivotal in spearheading optimization projects, implementing effective operational methods, and enhancing Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) and Quality standards. This role involves managing technology transfers and collaborating with various departments to ensure seamless production processes.
Key Responsibilities- Drive industrialization initiatives by integrating Design for Manufacturing principles across our product offerings.
- Design efficient plant layouts and streamline material flows to establish standardized manufacturing practices.
- Create comprehensive standard operating procedures, work instructions, and key performance indicators (KPIs) aligned with industry benchmarks.
- Conduct detailed assessments to enhance efficiency and productivity of standard work procedures.
- Maintain high standards of Quality and EHS throughout all operational activities.
- Improve information flow and product traceability to optimize processes.
- Contribute significantly to new product development, ensuring a smooth transition from design to manufacturing.
- Work closely with assembly subcontractors to implement standardized practices that enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
- Define material flows and ensure effective interfaces between subcontractors and AEG facilities.
- Collaborate with sourcing teams on make-or-buy decisions, ensuring new product developments meet quality standards and timelines.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering or a related discipline; a Master's degree is advantageous.
- Demonstrated experience in manufacturing engineering, ideally within the power electronics sector.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, quality control techniques, and continuous improvement practices.
- Proficient in CAD software and experienced with product lifecycle management (PLM) tools.
- Exceptional problem-solving and analytical capabilities.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Familiarity with relevant regulatory and safety standards in the power electronics industry is beneficial.
