Position: Test Engineer – Propulsion (f/m/d)

- Employment Type: Full-time position in labor leasing

Your Responsibilities

The Laboratory Testing division is tasked with conducting ground tests at the component, system, and aircraft levels. Our teams are engaged in preparing and executing tests that support research, development, and certification in propulsion, battery technology, structural integrity, and environmental assessments.
In this capacity, you will be part of the Propulsion Testing team, focusing on the preparation and execution of tests for propulsion systems. Close collaboration with the design team is essential to ensure the most effective testing strategies for our products.

Your Daily Activities
  • Evaluate test requests and refine them in collaboration with the design team
  • Develop a comprehensive test concept
  • Design the test and measurement setup in detail
  • Coordinate with technicians, suppliers, and other support teams
  • Plan the execution of tests, including procedures and risk assessments
  • Conduct hands-on testing
  • Process data and report results
  • Create and review engineering documentation related to test setups and outcomes
  • Provide feedback to the design team for product enhancements
  • Assist in resource and workload planning, coordinating with interfacing teams
  • Promote a safe working environment in the laboratory
  • Continuously learn about our test articles and methodologies, sharing knowledge with the team
Your Qualifications
  • Degree in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field (M.Sc/M.Eng preferred)
  • Proven experience in propulsion testing is essential
  • Strong background in measurement techniques and instrumentation is required
  • Experience in data analysis and post-processing is necessary
  • Familiarity with testing processes, methods, and best practices in the aerospace sector is advantageous
  • Experience in testing multi-kW electrical machines is a plus
  • Knowledge of CAD systems (preferably Siemens NX) is beneficial
  • Proactive individual capable of questioning and challenging assumptions
  • Able to work with incomplete requirements and anticipate client needs
  • High level of independence and ability to collaborate within a diverse team
  • Analytical problem-solving skills with a target-oriented work style are required
  • Fluent in English; proficiency in German or other languages is a plus
