Hardware Development Engineer

Amazon TA is seeking an experienced and business-oriented Senior Engineer to support the development and implementation of mechatronics and packaging automation in our EU fulfillment network.
Key Responsibilities- End-to-End Ownership: Lead large-scale automation engineering projects from planning to launch, ensuring timely and within-budget delivery.
- Hardware Development: Lead the development phase of new technologies, aligning with internal and external financial, safety, and ergonomic standards.
- Project Coordination: Coordinate critical path items, dive deep into technical details, and provide innovative solutions to resolve issues.
- Project Status Communication: Assess and communicate project status, escalations on potential risks and delays across multiple teams.
- Meeting Coordination: Prepare and conduct weekly standing meetings with internal teams and external vendors/contractors to plan and track deliverables.
- CAPEX Documentation: Create, submit, and track relevant CAPEX documentation to ensure projects are delivered within budget and best overall value.
- Equipment Specifications: Assist in providing equipment specifications and technical support to procurement and other business teams.
- Team Collaboration: Collaborate closely with various internal teams such as World Wide Engineering, Construction, Operations, Reliability Maintenance Engineering, IT, and Procurement.
- Bachelor or Master Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
- Technical leadership and project management experience in designing mechatronics solutions and/or packaging machinery.
- Experience using MS Excel, AutoCAD, MS Project, and related software.
- Flexibility to travel up to 50% across projects in Europe.
- Knowledge about automated material handling systems, packaging machinery, and storage solutions.
- Project execution experience in a construction environment (new build) or operational environment (buildout).
- Comprehensive understanding of operational as well as reliability and maintenance processes including relevant software tools.
- German, French, Polish, Arabic, Turkish, Afrikaans, and Zulu are considered preferred qualifications.
