Position Overview:
At Hochschule Darmstadt (h-da), we are seeking to fill a professorship in the field of Applied Cybersecurity and Computer Science Fundamentals. This role is classified under W2 according to the Hessian Higher Education Act.

Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Teaching and research in the domain of Applied Cybersecurity, with a focus on foundational computer science courses.
  • Contributing to the development and establishment of a dual Master's program in IT Security.
  • Engaging actively in the self-administration and continuous improvement of the Computer Science department.
  • Fostering interdisciplinary connections with other departments and relevant topics.

Qualifications:
Applicants should possess:

  • A completed degree in Computer Science or a related field (e.g., Mathematics, Electrical Engineering).
  • A doctoral degree with a minimum rating of "very good" (magna cum laude or better) in Computer Science or a related discipline.
  • Extensive theoretical knowledge and practical experience in at least one area of applied cybersecurity, such as IT forensics, offensive security, hardware security, or secure software development.
  • Demonstrated pedagogical competence through independent teaching.
  • Relevant scientific contributions in the form of publications within the last three years.
  • Experience in securing and/or managing third-party funded projects.
  • Fluency in German and English (C1 level or equivalent).
  • Competence in gender and diversity issues.

Desirable Attributes:
Additional qualifications that would be advantageous include:

  • Experience in developing study programs and strong connections with potential partner companies in dual study programs.
  • Successful acquisition of third-party funding in the relevant field and associated project management.
  • Active engagement in the national and international scientific community in IT security, including peer review and conference organization.
