Job Description

Hosokawa Alpine is a leading manufacturer of high-quality machinery and equipment, with a strong presence in the global market. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Shipping Manager to join our team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the Commercial Shipping and Shipping Control teams, including team development and performance optimization.
  • Ensure compliance with customs and foreign trade regulations, and implement processes to maintain regulatory adherence.
  • Oversee the dispatch processing and revenue generation of customer orders, ensuring timely and efficient delivery.
  • Develop and maintain shipping guidelines, taking into account shipping, customs, and customer specifications.
  • Optimize internal and external shipping and customs processes, including analysis and improvement of traceability and transparency in the supply chain.
  • Implement EDI or comparable solutions to enhance data transfer and communication with partners.
  • Initiate, manage, and participate in improvement projects within the company, supporting IT systems as needed.
  • Collaborate closely with internal departments, including sales, project planning, production, purchasing, logistics, IT, and finance, as well as external logistics partners, customers, suppliers, and the external packer.
  • Manage external warehouses, including commissioning and managing shuttle transportation to/from external warehouses.
  • Procure transport and logistics services, negotiating with forwarding partners.
Requirements
  • Completed training in logistics, such as forwarding agent or warehouse logistics specialist, with additional qualifications or completed studies with a focus on logistics, customs, and foreign trade.
  • Several years of professional experience in shipping processing.
  • Initial management experience is an advantage.
  • Confident handling of IT programs, including Office, ERP systems, and shipping software.
  • Confident command of written and spoken German and English.
  • High level of problem-solving, planning, and organizational skills.
  • Experience in project management.
  • High quality orientation.
