We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Backend Software Engineer to join our Shipping & Tracking team at HelloFresh. As a Senior Engineer, you will be responsible for defining and implementing technical solutions for business problems, being a feature lead. You will work with our neighboring teams to ensure that our efforts are aimed at achieving a clearer architecture and boundaries between tech teams to support autonomy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take ownership of the architecture, design, development, deployment, and operations of the services you will develop, using DevOps practices, pair programming, and other cutting-edge methodologies.
  • Be an active, solution-oriented member of autonomous, cross-functional agile teams collaborating with Product Owners, Front-end Engineers, Designers, and Business Intelligence teams.
  • Have an in-depth understanding of HelloFresh's core product and architecture, and act as an ambassador for software solutions offering support and mentorship to colleagues.
  • Solve software problems that have visible risks, roadblocks, and constraints. Examples might include legacy dependencies, data quality, compliance, and architecture or technology limitations.

Requirements

  • Experience working with Docker and container orchestration technologies such as Kubernetes.
  • Solid problem-solving skills and a deep understanding of a couple of programming languages. Experience with or willingness to learn Golang.
  • Expertise in designing and implementing distributed systems, including proficiency in synchronous/asynchronous communication.
  • Experienced in end-to-end development processes, including unit, integration & functional testing, distributed architecture, application tuning/profiling, and continuous integration.
  • You thrive in the opportunity to collaborate and mentor team members, while also sharing practical knowledge and trends.
  • An agile mindset with the ability to advocate for cross-functional collaboration.
