Electrical Officer Job Description

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Electrical Officer to join our team at OM Ships. As an Electrical Officer, you will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and upgrading of electrical systems on board our vessels.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on electrical systems, including generators, switchboards, motors, and control systems.
  • Schedule and plan maintenance and repair activities to ensure minimal disruption to vessel operations.
  • Install and commission new electrical systems and equipment.
  • Document all maintenance and repair activities in our computer-based maintenance software.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless vessel operations.

Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, including generators, switchboards, motors, and control systems.
  • Experience with computerized systems, such as AutoCAD and planned maintenance systems.
  • Ability to read and understand technical drawings, manuals, and documents.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Medical fitness to be signed on to crew articles.
