Position Overview

We are in search of a:

  • Senior Buyer (m/f/d)
Key Responsibilities
  • Autonomously select suppliers and engage in obtaining and negotiating quotes.
  • Initiate and lead projects aimed at cost optimization.
  • Negotiate and prepare framework agreements alongside annual pricing discussions.
  • Facilitate Make-or-Buy decision processes.
  • Oversee commercial management and execution of outsourcing initiatives.
  • Conduct procurement market research for designated material categories.
  • Collaborate with R&D, Global Sourcing, and Purchasing Management to develop commodity strategies.
  • Establish strategic supplier relationships focusing on quality, delivery performance, and cost efficiency in partnership with Quality Management and process engineers.
  • Participate in supplier audits and site visits.
  • Manage all supplier correspondence, including communications in English when necessary.
  • Engage in projects or subprojects within the Operations domain.
  • Independently prepare and analyze key metrics and reports as required.
  • Process Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) and maintain relevant purchasing master data.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant discipline.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in strategic procurement of direct materials within a manufacturing environment.

  • Innovative mindset for developing negotiation strategies.
  • Ability to prioritize and drive results within cross-functional teams.
  • Proficient negotiation skills in both German and English; additional languages are a plus.
  • Strong understanding of value analysis and product costing.
  • Technical knowledge combined with business acumen.
  • Experience in project management, particularly in New Product Development and Introduction (NPDI) projects, is advantageous.
  • Proficient in modern IT tools, including Microsoft Office applications and ERP systems.
  • Exhibits strong presence, implementation capabilities, resilience, and adaptability.
  • Willingness to travel (approximately 10%).
