As a Aviation Safety Specialist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and compliance of aircraft systems. Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting the Safety Manager in the preparation, execution, and follow-up of safety meetings.
- Generating and reviewing Safety Assessments and Analyses for Aircraft Systems, including Functional Hazard Assessments (FHA), Preliminary System Safety Assessments (pSSA), System Safety Assessments (SSA), Fault Tree Analyses (FTA), and both Quantitative and Qualitative Assessments.
- Collaborating with the Safety Manager, System Design Teams, and Suppliers to ensure adherence to safety objectives.
- Managing safety-derived requirements throughout the development lifecycle.
- Conducting analyses using Systems Engineering management tools, such as DOORS.
- Reviewing safety artifacts to ensure compliance and effectiveness.
- Assisting the Safety Manager in activities related to legislative compliance.
To be successful in this role, you should possess:
- A degree in Aerospace Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field.
- Knowledge of Aircraft Systems.
- Proven expertise in Safety processes, regulations, and guidelines, including Mil-Std 882, ARP 4754A, Def-Stan 00-56, IEC 61508, and ISO 26262.
- Preferable experience with tools such as Reliability Workbench and DOORS.
- Familiarity with the design and development of defense-related projects.
- Knowledge of Requirements-Based Engineering (RBE) and Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).
- Strong oral and written communication skills in English; proficiency in German is a plus.
