Role Overview
As a Buyer, you will be entrusted with the vital task of managing all procurement and supply chain activities. Your focus will be on purchasing operations and technical commodities. With your knowledge and a strong network of suppliers and subcontractors, you will ensure projects are completed on schedule and within budget. The scale of projects will vary based on your experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all procurement activities starting from the intent to purchase, including drafting preliminary specifications, selecting preferred suppliers, and scheduling the necessary parts and supplies;
- Engage in negotiations with suppliers to secure the best possible pricing for parts, services, and supplies while maintaining quality and timely delivery;
- Procure a diverse range of complex and technical components and services as dictated by approved requisitions;
- Manage Purchase Order (PO) processes, including ordering, expediting, distribution, approvals, and record-keeping, ensuring compliance with company policies and ISO standards;
- Resolve issues with suppliers regarding damage claims, rejections, returns, over-shipments, cancellations, and engineering modifications;
- Lead the management of Return Material Authorizations (RMA) from suppliers when necessary;
- Oversee inventory management and development;
- Actively contribute to continuous improvement initiatives aimed at reducing material costs and collaborate with manufacturing and design engineers on value engineering and analysis of components.
We welcome a diverse range of candidates for the Buyer position, from newcomers to seasoned professionals. However, we prioritize the following qualifications:
- A (Technical) Bachelor's degree; NEVI certification is advantageous;
- A minimum of five years of relevant experience in an industrial setting dealing with complex and technical materials;
- Familiarity with computerized ERP systems;
- Proven negotiation skills with various stakeholders;
- Knowledge of electro-mechanical assemblies and equipment;
- Proficient in IFS or similar MRP/ERP software and MS Office;
- Familiarity with the offshore energy sector is a plus;
- Valid EU work permit.
